The event was attended by administrators, faculty members, and students in a warm and lively atmosphere on August 28, 2025.

Mrs. Pateemoh Sadeeyamu, Governor of Pattani Province, remarked that the International Tea Festival 2025 marks the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Prince of Songkla University, Pattani Campus. It stands as an exemplary model of integrating academic learning with real-world experience beyond the classroom. Beyond promoting language practice and cultural learning through the narratives of tea, the event also helps students develop essential soft skills and nurtures the concept of Global Citizenship among youth. Such high-quality activities reflect the faculty’s determination to cultivate capable graduates who are ready to become a driving force in the development of society and the nation in the future.

Asst. Prof. Dr. Thakerng Wongsirichot, Vice President for Academic and International Affairs, added that over the past 50 years, the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, PSU Pattani, has acted as a “tea master,” committed to cultivating knowledge in language, culture, and the social sciences to produce graduates ready to serve society. Just like the meticulous brewing of tea that brings out deep flavors, this International Tea Festival serves as a stage reflecting the Faculty’s dedication to not only fostering learning within the classroom but also offering opportunities for learners and the community to experience diverse cultures through tea as a symbol of friendship and global connection.

Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Cherdchai Udomphan, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, explained that the International Tea Festival 2025 was organized to celebrate the Faculty’s 50th anniversary under the theme “HUSO: 50 Years of Intellectual Creation for a Sustainable Society.” The festival serves as a cultural platform and learning space for the public and youth to creatively explore global cultures and languages. Choosing “tea” as the central symbol conveys a deeper meaning beyond a beverage—it represents friendship, history, and connections across regions. This aligns with the motto “Bitter to Better,” symbolizing growth and transformation from challenges into valuable achievements.

Throughout the two-day festival, held on August 28–29 at the Moonlight Square, participants enjoyed diverse cultural activities, including traditional performances, a fashion show linking to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, academic seminars, the “Little International Ambassador” contest, and over 80 stalls featuring food and handicrafts. The event not only provided entertainment but also promoted learning, enhanced soft skills, and instilled the values of global citizenship among youth and the community.
