Kyoto University, Japan, visits PSU to strengthen academic collaboration

A PSU delegation, led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Thakerng Wongsirichot, Vice President for Academic and International Affairs, welcomed Kyoto University representatives Prof. Dr. Eiji Nawata, Director of the Kyoto University ASEAN Center; and Ms. Chisato Saito, Research Administrator of the Kyoto University Office of Research Acceleration (KURA), ASEAN Center, during their visit to PSU from 19 to 20 August 2025.

The visit aimed to explore and strengthen academic collaboration between the two institutions. Discussions focused on exploring ideas and proposals for cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including Medicine, Nursing, Science, Business Administration, Education, and Digital Technology.

During their stay, the Kyoto University delegates also visited several PSU units, including the Center of Excellence for Trace Analysis and Biosensor (TAB-CoE), the Faculty of Science, the Natural History Museum, and the Faculty of Natural Resources. These visits provided excellent opportunities to build stronger connections and exchange information, paving the way for future collaboration in the form of student and staff exchange, joint research projects, and co-hosted academic conferences and seminars.

This visit reflects the two universities’ continual commitment to enhance mutually beneficial collaboration, following the signing of a university-level Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in July 2025, a framework for future cooperation and strong partnership.
