PSU hosts inaugural AUN Dx Assessor Workshop, enhancing ASEAN University Network digital transformation

From 9 to 11 April 2025, PSU, through the Office of Digital Innovation and Intelligent Systems, hosted the inaugural AUN Dx Assessor Workshop at the Faculty of Science, PSU Hat Yai Campus. The event was officially opened by Asst. Prof. Dr. Thakerng Wongsirichot, Vice President for Academic and International Affairs. Attendees included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sinchai Kamolphiwong, Director of the Office of Digital Innovation and Intelligent Systems, along with PSU executives, renowned experts from leading ASEAN universities, PSU staff, and other interested participants.

The inaugural AUN Dx Assessor Workshop was organized to introduce the AUN Dx Framework and its Assessment Guidelines to higher education institutions across ASEAN. The workshop aimed to build participants’ capacity to serve as internal assessors through interactive, hands-on activities such as case studies and simulated assessment scenarios—preparing them to effectively implement the framework within their own institutions. In addition, the workshop provided a valuable platform for exchanging ideas and offering constructive feedback to further refine the assessment process. Ultimately, the event sought to raise digital transformation standards and foster stronger regional collaboration among ASEAN universities.

The event also featured a series of key presentations related to the AUN Dx quality assurance framework. Dr. Chayakorn Piyabunditkul, Chief Executive Officer of ISEM Co., Ltd., presented the first assessment report conducted under the AUN Dx Framework for PSU’s Digital Innovation and Intelligent Systems Center (DiiS). Dr. Tachanan Kangwantrakul, President and Founder of ISEM Co., Ltd., emphasized the essential role of Certifying Bodies (CBs) in supporting the effective implementation of the framework. Additionally, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chinnapong Angsuchotmetee provided an overview of the AUN Dx Framework and introduced the AUN Dx LLM (Beta version), showcasing how this AI-powered system is designed to support and streamline the assessment process.

Dr. Thakerng emphasized that “The First AUN Dx Assessor Workshop” plays a crucial role in advancing ICT quality management and enhancing internal assessment capacity within ASEAN higher education institutions. The workshop is built upon the AUN Dx Framework, which was collaboratively developed by universities across the region. PSU has taken a leading role in driving this initiative and has been officially appointed as the Secretariat of the AUN Dx Thematic Network. In addition, PSU serves as the lead institution in developing the AUN Dx Framework—an essential guideline for improving digital quality and strengthening capabilities across ASEAN universities.

The workshop was designed to provide participants with hands-on experience in applying the AUN Dx Assessment Framework. Attendees gained in-depth understanding of the framework and its assessment guidelines through practical training, including case studies and simulated assessment scenarios. These activities aimed to equip institutions with the tools and insights needed to adopt and implement the framework in alignment with international standards. This collaborative initiative marks a significant step forward in advancing higher education across the region. The exchange of knowledge and experiences among participants is expected to enhance the capacity of ASEAN universities to address digital challenges more effectively, while laying a strong foundation for the continued growth and development of the AUN Dx network.
