On 17 July 2025, PSU Phuket Campus warmly welcomed His Excellency Mr. Mark Gooding OBE, British Ambassador to Thailand, on the occasion of his official visit to the university. He was received by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pun Thongchumnum, Vice President of Phuket Campus, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Thakerng Wongsirichot, Vice President for Academic and International Affairs.
During the visit, H.M. Ambassador delivered a keynote speech titled “170 Years of UK–Thailand Friendship, Cooperation, and Collaboration”, followed by a Q&A session with students and staff. The event was attended by approximately 40–60 participants, from various faculties at PSU Phuket Campus.
The Ambassador and his delegation were also given a guided campus tour, including a visit to the airline mock-up room of the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism and laboratories at the Faculty of Technology and Environment.
The visit marks a valuable opportunity to strengthen UK–Thailand ties in higher education and to inspire PSU students to engage with global perspectives.
