Surat Thani Campus partnered with network institutions to foster collaboration between Surat Thani province and Russia

On 8 January 2025, PSU Surat Thani Campus, in collaboration with Surat Thani Province, hosted a meeting to discuss the development of data and strategies aimed at promoting cooperation between Surat Thani Province and the Russian Federation. The meeting, chaired by Mr. Theerut Supawiboonphol, Governor of Surat Thani, brought together PSU Surat Thani campus administrators, government agencies, and private sector representatives. The event took place at Surat Thani Campus, marking a significant step towards fostering stronger ties and collaboration between the two regions.

This meeting followed the visit of His Excellency Mr. Sasiwat Wongsinsawat, Ambassador of Thailand to Moscow, Russia, who met with provincial executives and heads of government agencies in Surat Thani on December 16, 2024. During his visit, the Ambassador expressed a strong interest in fostering cooperation in education, tourism, and trade and investment between Surat Thani Province and Russia. This meeting at PSU Surat Thani Campus served as a crucial step in advancing those discussions and laying the groundwork for future collaboration.

To advance this initiative, the Governor of Surat Thani Province assigned PSU Surat Thani Campus as the primary coordinator for organizing the meeting, with the key objective of strengthening bonds between Surat Thani Province and Russia. The meeting aimed to expand cooperation in economics, education, tourism, and culture for the development and enhancement of the region's potential, fostering long-term collaboration and mutual growth.
 
The outcomes of this meeting will be analyzed and developed into a concrete action plan to promote long-term cooperation between Surat Thani Province and Russia.
