Prince of Songkla University (PSU), led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Niwat Keawpradub, President, officially welcomed Assoc. Prof. Dr. Evangeline P. Bautista, Chief and Lead Assessor, together with the assessment committee of the ASEAN University Network – Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) system, on the 475th AUN-QA Programme Assessment at Prince of Songkla University. The event was held at the Conference Hall, 60th Anniversary of His Majesty the King’s Accession to the Throne International Convention Center, PSU Hat Yai Campus, from 21–23 October 2025, with the participation of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Karunrat Suntornpan, Vice President for Quality Development and Risk Management, executives, the Office of Organizational Quality Management, and relevant stakeholders.
In his opening remarks, the President reaffirmed the university’s commitment to enhancing the quality of its graduates to meet the rapidly changing global landscape. He emphasized that achieving this goal requires concrete, systematic action. Over the past three years, PSU has undergone six programme-level assessments under AUN-QA, covering the Hat Yai, Pattani, and Phuket campuses. To date, the university has 22 accredited programmes, reflecting its continued efforts to meet international standards. This year, PSU is scheduled for two programme assessments, the first being this session, while the second will take place next month at the Hat Yai and Surat Thani campuses.
“Although this process poses challenges, especially considering the university’s diverse missions, we highly value the opportunity to present our work to the assessors. The constructive recommendations provided will be instrumental in further developing and improving our academic programmes. We express our sincere appreciation to the assessment team for their contributions and wish for a smooth and successful evaluation,” the President concluded.
The 475th AUN-QA Programme Assessment at PSU includes four academic programmes from four faculties at the Hat Yai Campus:
- Master of Science in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Faculty of Dentistry
- Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Engineering, Faculty of Engineering
- Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing Science (International Programme), Faculty of Nursing
- Master of Science in Microbiology (International Programme), Faculty of Science
This assessment underscores PSU’s ongoing dedication to academic excellence and continuous quality improvement aligned with ASEAN and global standards.
