PSU Lookprabida team triumphs in EV Class at Formula Student Japan 2025

Prince of Songkla University, led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Niwat Keawpradub, President, congratulated the Lookprabida Team from the Faculty of Engineering, after their outstanding achievement in the Electric Vehicle (EV) category at the Formula Student Japan 2025 (FSAEJ2025) competition held in Nagoya, Japan.
The meeting took place on September 25, 2025, at Room 215, 2nd Floor, Office of the President, Prince of Songkla University, Hat Yai Campus. Joining the session were Asst. Prof. Dr. Nikom Suvonvorn, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering; Asst. Prof. Sait Tanthannuch, Director of the Center for Electric Vehicle Development (PSU EV); Assoc. Prof. Dr. Charoenyut Detwayukun, Lecturer in Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering; and Asst. Prof. Dr. Watcharin Kaewapichai, Lecturer in Computer Engineering and team advisor, along with student members of the Lookprabida Team who presented their competition summary.
The Lookprabida Team represented Thailand with their first-ever four-wheel-drive electric vehicle (EV class)—the first Thai-built car to pass the rigorous safety inspection for international teams in Japan. This marked the team’s debut in the EV category at Formula Student Japan 2025, organized by the Society of Automotive Engineers of Japan (JSAE). The competition took place from September 8–13, 2025, at Aichi Sky Expo, Nagoya, Japan.
Formula Student Japan challenges university students to design, build, and race their own formula-style vehicles. The competition features two main categories: Internal Combustion Engine Vehicle Class – 58 teams participated, and Electric Vehicle Class – 25 teams participated.
The Lookprabida Team achieved an overall score of 192.87 points, ranking 14th overall in the EV category, and received multiple accolades as follows:
