On 14 June 2025, PSU in collaboration with the Embassy of India in Thailand, organized the International Day of Yoga 2025, at the flagpole area of PSU Hat Yai Campus. The event aimed to promote health and well-being while strengthening the cordial relations between the University and the Embassy. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Janya Chanchaichujit, Assistant President for Promotion of Foreign Affairs, presided over the opening ceremony. The highlight of the event was a special yoga session led by Mr. Sanjiv Kumar Chaturvedi, a renowned Indian yoga expert, who guided participants through a series of yoga practices that fostered mindfulness, balance, and wellness.

The International Day of Yoga is celebrated to promote the widespread practice of yoga, recognizing its profound benefits as an ancient discipline with a history spanning over 2,000 years. Yoga serves as a holistic therapy for both body and mind, helping to alleviate various physical pains while enhancing energy metabolism. Additionally, it fosters mental tranquility, reduces stress, and significantly improves concentration and mindfulness.

In 2014, the United Nations (UN) officially declared June 21st of each year as the International Day of Yoga. Since then, PSU, in collaboration with the Embassy of India in Thailand, has proudly hosted this event at the Hat Yai campus three times. This year marked the fourth edition of the celebration, which has received enthusiastic participation and positive responses from attendees. The event also featured traditional Indian cultural performances, leaving a lasting impression on all participants.
