The Songkhla Institute for Skill Development 12 has partnered with the Electric Vehicle Development Center, PSU, to jointly develop training courses and conduct programs designed to enhance the skills and efficiency of the workforce. This collaboration focuses on improving workers’ ability to leverage technology and innovation, as well as creating training curricula that align with current industry trends. The goal is to sustainably boost productivity in both the industrial and service sectors.
The collaboration and integration among various sectors, including Songkhla Province, the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, and PSU, aim to support the implementation of national skill standards testing. This collective effort focuses on training and upskilling the workforce, ensuring that national skill standards evolve in line with ongoing economic and social changes. The primary goal is to enhance sustainable employment opportunities, particularly in the field of electric vehicle maintenance technicians, in response to the rapid advancements in EV technology and the increasing demands of the global market.
This initiative aims to ensure standardized practices in electric vehicle maintenance and prevent unqualified individuals from operating EV repair centers, which could jeopardize safety and service quality. To address this concern, the Department of Skill Development has instructed all provinces to collaborate with both public and private sectors to establish certified testing centers for Level 2 Electric Vehicle Maintenance Technicians and other related fields. Currently, these testing centers have been successfully established and officially licensed nationwide.
