From 24-26 October 2024, PSU, led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Niwat Keawpradub, PSU President, along with Asst. Prof. Dr. Thakerng Wongsirichot, Vice President for Academic and International Affairs, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kannika Sahakaro, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sukree Hajisamae from the Faculty of Science and Technology, participated in the 100th Anniversary Celebration of Ocean University of China (OUC) in Qingdao, People’s Republic of China.
The PSU delegation actively participated in a series of prestigious conferences, including the Global Conference on Ocean Cooperation and Development, the China-ASEAN Partnership Forum on Sustainable Fisheries, Aquaculture, and Blue Economy Development, as well as the ASEAN-FEN+ Leaders Symposium 2024. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sukree, who serves as an Advisor to the ASEAN Fisheries Education Network (ASEAN-FEN), contributed to insightful discussions on critical issues alongside representatives from various countries. Moreover, PSU strengthened its academic ties by signing a collaboration agreement with the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine at Universitas Airlangga, Indonesia, to establish a Double Degree Program. This partnership aims to promote the internationalization of fisheries science education, offering students from both institutions enhanced global opportunities.
Additionally, the PSU President and Vice President for Academic and International Affairs visited Qingdao University of Science and Technology (QUST), where they received a warm welcome from Prof. Dr. Chen Kezheng, President of QUST, and Prof. Dr. Shen Wenqing, Deputy Secretary. During the visit, both institutions engaged in productive discussions aimed at expanding collaboration across various fields. As a result, the two universities signed a Cooperation Agreement for Student Development, underscoring their shared commitment to promoting student growth and advancing academic excellence.
This participation marked a significant milestone for PSU in advancing high-level discussions to expand collaborations and strengthen its relationships with international strategic partners. Through these network connections and meaningful exchanges, PSU is laying the foundation for the development of diverse partnerships that will bring long-term benefits to both students and staff.
