



The opening session was presided over by Prof. Dr. Wisanu Miyu, Deputy Director of TSRI, who delivered the keynote on the objectives of the event. He was joined by Asst. Prof. Dr. Niwat Keawpradub, President of PSU and representative of the Council of University Presidents of Thailand (CUPT); Assoc. Prof. Dr. Suwat Thanyaros, President of Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya, representing the RMUT network; and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Weerachai Saengchai, Vice President of Songkhla Rajabhat University, representing the Rajabhat University network, who all extended their welcome to participants.


In his address, Prof. Dr. Wisanu Miyu also presented “Strategies for Linking Research and Innovation for Real-World Utilization under the SRI For All Framework.” The initiative underscores strategic planning and budget allocation as critical mechanisms to drive research application across economic and social dimensions, enhance national competitiveness, and improve quality of life. The framework also emphasizes inclusivity, inviting contributions from academia, industry, government, civil society, and the general public to jointly advance national development.

The event also provided a platform for discussions on strategies to maximize research and innovation impact, concluding with a summary of key insights and joint directions under the theme “What’s Next.” An exhibition of applied research and innovation projects from participating institutions further demonstrated the tangible benefits of academic research in action.
Ahead of the conference, on August 31, 2025, PSU and TSRI representatives visited PSU’s advanced laboratories and flagship research centers, including:
- The Center of Excellence in Research and Development of Para Rubber Biotechnology for Commercialization (CERB)
- The Institute of Research and Innovation in Para Rubber
- The Rubber Engineering Center
- The Center for Forensic Science Innovation and Services
- The Center of Excellence for Trace Analysis and Biosensor Research (TAB-CoE)
These visits showcased PSU’s commitment to advancing scientific excellence and supporting Thailand’s role in research-driven innovation with real-world impact.
