A Prince of Songkla University delegation, led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Niwat Keawpradub, President; comprising Asst. Prof. Dr. Thakerng Wongsirichot, Vice President for Academic and International Affairs; and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Surapong Chatpun, Deputy Director for Educational Innovation, Office of Education and Learning Innovation, signed an academic cooperation agreement with Mr. Kobert Hlemnu, Chairman of the As-Siddeek Islamic Cooperative Limited, to strengthen Cooperative and Work-Integrated Education (CWIE) and jointly develop innovative curricula.
The signing ceremony was held on 18 December 2025 at the Office of the President, Prince of Songkla University, Hat Yai Campus. The partnership aims to establish a shared framework for CWIE implementation, exchange operational experiences, and co-design new curriculum models that integrate academic learning with real-world professional practice.
Dr. Niwat stated that the collaboration reflects the shared vision of both organizations in developing high-quality human resources aligned with industry needs and capable of applying knowledge in real workplace settings. He emphasized that integrating classroom learning with practical work experience benefits students, organizations, and society, and represents a significant step in enhancing educational quality and national human resource development.
This partnership marks an important milestone for the Office of Education and Learning Innovation at PSU in strengthening student competencies to meet labor market demands. As-Siddeek Islamic Cooperative Limited will serve as a key learning platform, providing students with opportunities to gain hands-on professional experience in an organization recognized for its community development and cooperative management.
Following the signing ceremony, executives from both institutions held in-depth discussions on future collaborative initiatives to ensure that competency-based graduate development can effectively respond to the evolving social and economic landscape in a sustainable manner.
