Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Natural History Museum wins Thailand Tourism Sustainability Award

Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Natural History Museum, Prince of Songkla University (PSU), led by Dr. Phannee Sa-ardrit, Deputy Director, was honored with the Thailand Tourism Award 2025 (15th Edition) in the category of Thailand Tourism Sustainability Awards. The award ceremony was organized by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and presided over by Her Royal Highness Princess Ubol Ratana Rajakanya Sirivadhana Barnavadi, who graciously presented the awards to outstanding Thai tourism enterprises at the Grand Ballroom, Grand Hyatt Erawan Hotel, Bangkok, on September 27, 2025.

Since its inception in 1996, the Thailand Tourism Awards, hosted by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports and TAT, has aimed to recognize and honor tourism organizations that consistently enhance service quality, maintain excellence, and achieve international competitiveness. This prestigious award represents a symbol of honor and pride for Thailand’s tourism industry, affirming the delivery of valuable and memorable experiences for quality travelers while promoting Thailand’s cultural identity, traditions, and sustainable environmental practices.
 
The Kinnaree Award the highest accolade in Thailand’s tourism industry serves as a key mechanism to elevate service standards, cultural identity, and sustainability. Aligned with the theme “The Award of Honor: Advancing Thailand’s Tourism Industry Toward Sustainability,” it highlights the nation’s commitment to sustainable tourism development.

This recognition marks a significant milestone and a source of great pride for the PSU Natural History Museum. Over its 17 years of operation, the museum has remained steadfast in advancing natural science education and biodiversity conservation. It continues to connect scientific knowledge with public engagement, serving as an academic hub for research, learning, and community outreach in natural history.
