CWTS Leiden Ranking 2025: PSU #55 in Thailand, #701 worldwide

During 2020–2023, Prince of Songkla University (PSU) has consistently been listed in the CWTS Leiden Ranking, underscoring the University’s role as a higher education institution whose research is internationally recognized—particularly in terms of citation impact and academic collaboration. In the latest results, PSU is ranked 5th in Thailand, 303rd in Asia, and 701st in the world. The University has produced a substantial body of highly cited research and appears in the global Top 10% in multiple fields, supported by continuous academic collaboration both domestically and internationally.

CWTS Leiden Ranking Traditional Edition 2025 is a global university ranking produced by the Centre for Science and Technology Studies (CWTS), Leiden University, the Netherlands. The ranking focuses on assessing research performance using publication and citation data from international databases, and does not use reputation indicators or survey-based opinion measures. It evaluates universities based on three key dimensions: (1) Scientific impact, (2) Collaboration, and (3) Open access.

The CWTS Leiden Ranking Open Edition 2025 results further highlight PSU as a higher education institution with strong research potential and the ability to generate internationally impactful knowledge.

Data from the CWTS Leiden Ranking indicate that over the past 5–7 years, the University’s research outputs in the social sciences and humanities have shown clear qualitative improvement, with an increasing share of publications reaching the Top 10% worldwide.
