THE Impact Rankings 2025: PSU ranked joint #6 in Thailand and #1 in SDGs 1, 7, 8, 15, and 17

On 18 June 2025, Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2025 announced the performance of 2,526 universities from 130 countries based on their progress towards achieving the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The rankings reflect the efforts and initiatives undertaken by universities to support and advance sustainable development globally.

PSU achieved an overall score of 86.5, ranking joint 6th in Thailand and within the 101–200 band globally in the THE Impact Rankings 2025. These rankings assess the contributions of higher education institutions to the advancement of the SDGs. In 2025, PSU demonstrated significant progress, achieving rankings in all 17 SDG categories, with improved performance compared to previous years. PSU has been recognized for its performance across a wide range under THE Impact Rankings 2025 as follows:

SDG 1 – No Poverty: Score 82.3, ranked 1st in Thailand, 32nd in the world
SDG 2 – Zero Hunger: Score 73.4, ranked 7th in Thailand, 92nd in the world
SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-being: Score 74.5, tied 5th in Thailand, ranked 101–200 globally
SDG 4 – Quality Education: Score 83.5, ranked 2nd in Thailand, 22nd in the world
SDG 5 – Gender Equality: Score 76.3, ranked 5th in Thailand, 19th in the world
SDG 6 – Clean Water and Sanitation: Score 77.0, ranked 4th in Thailand, 82nd in the world
SDG 7 – Affordable and Clean Energy: Score 67.9, ranked 1st in Thailand, tied 83rd globally
SDG 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth: Score 84.4, ranked 1st in Thailand, tied 14th globally
SDG 9 – Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure: Score 63.7, tied 11th in Thailand, ranked 301–400 globally
SDG 10 – Reduced Inequalities: Score 50.0, tied 4th in Thailand, ranked 401–600 globally
SDG 11 – Sustainable Cities and Communities: Score 73.3, tied 7th in Thailand, ranked 101–200 globally
SDG 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production: Score 76.9, tied 3rd in Thailand, ranked 101–200 globally
SDG 13 – Climate Action: Score 65.8, tied 4th in Thailand, ranked 101–200 globally
SDG 14 – Life Below Water: Score 81.2, ranked 4th in Thailand, 45th in the world
SDG 15 – Life on Land: Score 86.7, ranked 1st in Thailand, 34th in the world
SDG 16 – Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions: Score 78.2, ranked 4th in Thailand, tied 70th globally
SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals: Score 98.0, ranked 1st in Thailand, 10th in the world

THE Impact Rankings evaluates universities based on performance indicators across four core areas: Research, Stewardship, Outreach, and Teaching. Each university’s overall score is calculated using the results from SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, combined with the three other SDGs in which the university scores the highest.
