On February 16, 2016, PSU Hat Yai Campus hosted the 9th Japan Education Fair at its main library, namely Khunying Long Athakravisunthon Learning Resources Center. The organizers of this auspicious event include the Embassy of Japan in Thailand, Association of Japan Alumni in Southern Thailand and PSU International Affairs Office.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Pattara Aiyarak, PSU Vice President for Global Relations and Informatics, together with representatives from the faculties of Engineering, Natural Resources, Science and PSU International Affairs Office, warmly welcomed 18 distinguished delegates, led by Mr. Hideo Fukushima, Minister at the Embassy of Japan in Thailand.
The honorable visitors represented several educational organizations and leading Japanese universities including Bangkok-based Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO), Japan Society for the Promotion Science (JSPS), Fukui University of Technology, Kyoto University, Osaka University, Tokai University, Tokyo University of Technology and Meiji University.
During the event, all participants got insights about the Japanese education system and culture, as well as valuable information on studying in Japan. Presenters emphasized that there are various types of Japanese government grants available, such as for researchers or graduate students, or short-term scholarships for high school and university students.
