PSU, in association with the Embassy of India in Bangkok, organized the 5th International Yoga Day on 23 June 2019, on PSU’s Hat Yai campus. Over 150 participants have joined the early-morning activity to learn and practice yoga techniques with an Indian professional yoga instructor. After the yoga practice, attendees enjoyed the authentic taste of Indian spice tea called masala chai, along with an Indian dessert called jalebi - both kindly prepared by the PSU Indian Student Society with the support from PSU and the Embassy of India in Bangkok.
Yoga practice, a form of ancient physical and spiritual exercise, originates from India. In recent times it has gained massive popularity worldwide, prompting the United Nations to adopt the first International Yoga Day in 2014, celebrated annually ever since. This year’s event was an excellent opportunity for PSU to collaborate with the Embassy of India in Bangkok, to enhance the university’s cultural diversity and promote Indian cultural appreciation in the region.]
