PSU researchers from Pattani Poverty Alleviation Project attend 2nd PA Academy Workshop to strengthen report writing capacity

Researchers from the Prince of Songkla University (PSU) project addressing poverty in Pattani Province (the “Pattani Poverty Alleviation Project”) participated in the second practical workshop under the Poverty Alleviation Academy (PA Academy). The workshop, titled “Developing a Framework for Writing the Complete Final Report and Enhancing the Role of Academic Institutions in Disaster Management,” was held under the Strategic Research Areas for Poverty Eradication and Social Opportunity (SRA/Pre-SRA) program at Amari Don Muang Airport Hotel, Bangkok, during 24–25 January 2026.

The workshop focused on strengthening researchers’ knowledge, understanding, and capacity to prepare a complete and accurate Final Report, ensuring it is comprehensive and aligned with the research framework of Program Management Unit on Area Based Development. It also emphasized advancing the role of academic institutions in supporting systematic disaster management.

Key activities included knowledge transfer, conceptual guidance, and examples of good practice in research report development. Core topics covered literature review and identifying research gaps, research methodology, data analysis and synthesis, research conclusions, and the formulation of policy recommendations. The workshop also featured close feedback from experts and project steering committee members.

In addition, the program highlighted peer learning through experience-sharing among researchers from 12 provinces, enabling participants to learn best practices and practical insights that can be applied to improve both research reporting and project implementation.

Outcomes from the workshop are expected to enhance the Pattani Poverty Alleviation Project’s research reports by making them more systematic, clear, and better aligned with the strategic research framework. The training also strengthens researchers’ readiness to integrate disaster management knowledge and financial skills into area-based research—providing an important foundation for driving the project toward its intended goals.
