Prof. Dr. Satoshi Shimano from Hosei University, Japan, visited PSU on 21 October 2016, in order to discuss potential future cooperation, including study abroad programs, joint research, as well as other mutually beneficial activities. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chusak Limsakul, PSU President, together with Asst. Prof. Dr. Kewalin Thammasitboon, Assistant President for International Affairs, and representatives from the Faculty of Science and International Affairs Office, welcomed him at the President’s Office Building, PSU Hat Yai Campus.
During the meeting, several topics were discussed, such as a future Memorandum of Understanding to be signed between the two universities, students and staff exchange, summer camps, scholarship availability for international students, as well as a customized Thai Cultural Camp for Hosei University students, in order for them to learn more about Thai culture, society, economy, and sustainability.
Prof. Satoshi also visited the Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Natural History Museum, and discussed possible joint research in taxonomy with PSU museum’s administrators.
