A PSU team, led by Miss Suphitcha Ek-Uru, Assistant President for Promotion of Foreign Affairs, joined the MARCO POLO Erasmus+ Final Conference titled “Multi-Regional Network for International Cooperation” and the final Steering Committee Meeting, held at the Universiti Malaya (UM) in Kuala Lumpur from 16 - 18 December 2019.
MARCO POLO Erasmus+ is a Capacity Building project aiming to foster the interregional and international cooperation of Southeast Asian universities, as well as to strengthen the strategic infrastructure and human capacities in the six higher education institutions from Partner Countries, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam, as a model for the development and modernization of institutional management.
Throughout this 3-year project (2016-2019), all partner institutions developed a network for future institutional cooperation, shared knowledge and experiences on teaching, learning and research matters, designed an innovative interregional and international mobility framework for students, academics, researchers and university staff, and implemented several valuable activities such as mobility of students and staff, trainings and workshops, conferences and national roundtables, etc.
PSU Assistant President Suphitcha Ek-Uru shared an informative presentation and joined the Panel Discussion: “Formulating the Strategic Planning on Internationalisation for the Future” during this conference. Furthermore, on 18 December, the Universiti Malaya organized an International Day comprising an Education Fair, where UM students, academics and staff, as well as representatives from other Malaysian and Indonesian universities could receive brochures and information about all MARCO POLO partner institutions. UM also invited other institutions and organizations to join the fair to promote their programs and network with Marco Polo members.
This final conference was once again a great opportunity for the European and Asian partners to enhance their international visibility, develop people-to-people connectivity and exchange opportunities for collaboration, as well as share knowledge and experiences on best practices.
